Head Mechanic Wanted

Job Description

The Head Mechanic will manage overall workflow of the service department, ensuring that all repairs are completed in a timely matter and that customers have been properly communicated with. The Head Mechanic will also manage incoming and outgoing rental bikes, check in inventory as it arrives, assist in the processing of warranties, and meet weekly with the Service Manager.

Requirements: 

• • • Bike shop management experience
    • Service writing experience
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Proficiency in wide variety of bike repairs
    • Comfortable creating purchase orders with various vendors
    • Customer service experience, including bike sales
    • Weekend availability

Fairmount Bicycles is a commuter-focused bike shop in the Art Museum area of Philadelphia. Our service department sees a wide variety of repairs, ranging from daily commuters to high-performance road, gravel, and mountain bikes. Open since 2010, we also offer rentals and guided bike tours.
